Abstract

The formulation of nursing diagnoses is a key challenge in nursing education and practice, this paper proposes DIEN, an expert system designed to improve this fundamental competence among nursing students and professionals. The research applied technological methodologies to develop DIEN. The results revealed that DIEN facilitates the formulation of nursing diagnoses based on NANDA I, exhibits high reliability in the presentation of diagnostic information and ensures a satisfactory user experience in terms of ease of use on different devices. We conclude that DIEN is an effective and reliable innovation that provides significant support in the formulation of nursing diagnoses, offering considerable potential for application in educational and clinical settings, and laying a solid foundation for future research and development in the integration of expert systems in nursing practice.
