Abstract
The objective is to contribute to the formation of research competence in university students, through the application of a modular curriculum by competences, socioformative didactic strategies and evaluation of evidences. 438 students participated in a period of seven years. The results obtained from the university's documentary sources and from the questionnaire show that the level of development of the research competence is intermediate and that the strategies applied by the teachers are decisive for the learning of this competence.
