The objective of this research was to uncover the social imaginaries of the students of the education career on the quality of research training. To approach the objective, a qualitative research design was defined, from the perspective of the hermeneutical approach. The population is made up of 80 students, with an intentional sampling. Information was collected from the use of the focus groups technique and as a data collection instrument the semi-structured interview was determined. For the results obtained, it is concluded to understand and promote research training in the university.
