Abstract

One of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 agenda of the United Nations is psychological well-being expressed in happiness. Therefore, this research aimed to determine the relationship between spiritual intelligence and happiness in students from private universities in Peru. It was a non-experimental, descriptive correlational research; The sample was made up of 600 university students from northern Peru, who responded to two questionnaires: emotional intelligence scale and happiness questionnaires. 34.5% need to improve their spiritual intelligence, while 35.5% have low levels of happiness. It was found that there is a relationship between spiritual intelligence and happiness (p = 0.000). There are no significant differences between spiritual intelligence and happiness based on sex, but there are significant differences in terms of age, students over 25 years of age are those who develop a better capacity for spiritual intelligence. The importance is highlighted for universities, through the area of university well-being and tutoring, to plan and develop programs, talks, and workshops aimed at strengthening spiritual intelligence in order to find better psychological well-being reflected in greater happiness.
