Abstract
Objective: It quantified levels of Immunoglobulins (IgE, IgG, IgM, and IgA), albumin, total proteins, and hematological parameters (erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, hemoglobin, hematocrit, HCM, VCM, CHCM) before and after exposure to bee venom. Methods: It was an analytical and experimental study. It evaluated Twenty-five young male volunteer students from a Biological Sciences Faculty of a university. The significance between the variables was determined using the t-Student and v-Wil-coxon tests. Results: The effect of bee venom showed no significant difference in IgG, total proteins, and albumin, although there was significance in the levels of IgM, IgE, and IgA. In the hematological parameters: There was no significant difference (p>0.05) for erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, hematocrit, MCV, and CHCM, but there was a significant difference (p<0.05) for HB and HCM. Conclusion: These results show that bee venom alerts the humoral immune system in young, healthy males.
