Abstract
The accessibility together with the usability are two important quality attributes that must be considered in the development process of software products. However, it is possible to find a significant number of websites on the Internet that do not meet minimum considerations about these two quality attributes. A frequent problem is that web sites do not provide mechanisms that allow people with different abilities and capabilities to access them, infringing local laws and the right of all citizens to access a public service. In addition, many web sites provide interfaces that are difficult to understand, unattractive, and with several functionality problems that negatively affect the experience. In this study, the relationship between the level of usability and accessibility of websites is examined. For this purpose, the five most representative Peruvian websites in this domain were selected and measured in a heuristic inspection and accessibility evaluation. Finally, the study presents the correlation analysis between both variables.
