The present article aimed to characterize the educational videos as a technological strategy in the professional performance of secondary school teachers. Methodologically, this research is descriptive and with a pre-experimental design, the use of the educational video strategy was carried out with a team of secondary school teachers, with an instrument validated by experts, consisting of a questionnaire, and an intentional sample of 10 teachers in a section of a specific school grade. The results show that the teachers did not use the educational video at the beginning of the study; and after applying the proposal, teachers who work in the fourth grade of high school, now if they use the educational video, as a significant educational tool in the development of learning sessions. It is shown that the Peruvian teacher of basic education tries to motivate his students from their pedagogical practice, to use the new information and communication technologies, with a positive tendency in the professional teaching performance.
