Resumen
Given the diversity of problems that have affected the well-being and mental health of the population, especially psychological functioning, and having limitations in accessing studies that explain the role of resilience in positive psychological functioning in women, the study of these variables is relevant. In this sense, the objective of this research was to determine to what extent resilience explains positive psychological functioning. It was an applied study with a causal correlational design; 169 women from the city of Piura, Peru participated, selected through a non-probabilistic sampling by criteria, and two Likert-type questionnaires were administered. Through bivariate correlations, significant values of 0.69 were found, and when performing the linear regression process, an R squared of 0.51 was found, and in the coefficients of the linear regression model between resilience and psychological functioning, significant values of 0.000 were obtained. By means of these findings it is concluded that resilience predicts and acts as a mediator in the characteristics of positive psychological functioning in this group of women, therefore, any intervention carried out will have satisfactory results by providing adequate coping strategies.
